The sleeping lion is one of the most famous places in Galapagos. These colossal rocks were once part of a volcanic cone that rises above sea level and, as seen from a distance, they look like a sleeping sea lion, hence its name; but the scenic beauty of these rocks is not the only attraction here. The most important feature is the immense amount of marine life that lives in the waters surrounding the sleeping lion: Eagle rays, Galapagos sharks and thousands of colorful tropical fish can be seen here. Also the incredible hammerhead shark can be seen in the area. It will leave you dazzled by the beauty and variety of marine life found in this area.

After this visit, we will visit one of the nearby beaches, such as Puerto Grande, Cerro Brujo or Manglecito. As part of the conservation policies of the National Park, the visitor site changes to reduce the pressure on the environment, so the place to visit after diving in El León asleep will vary according to the day. However, all of them are beautiful beaches, bathed by turquoise waters and beautiful sands.
