In Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and San Cristobal Island, visitors have many options to visit, enjoy and explore various attractions, starting with the beach itself next to the Hotel with its colony of sea lions and other species of Galapagos; the people and their Malecón, two additional beaches within walking distance: Beach and Punta Carola Mann; the Nautical Museum which is within walking distance of the hotel, which exhibits an interesting history of human settlement on the island; Interpretation Center of the Galapagos National Park; the "Wolf Pack", just outside the town center, with a stable colony of sea lions adults (locally called marine "wolves") and, at the eastern end of the Bay is Cerro Earwigs which you are reached by a dirt path and then a wooden walkway leading to the center of a colony of frigate birds nesting in the area along with other species of seabirds and the famous Galapagos finches and spectacular views of Punta Carola.In the fishing pier you can occasionally watch the beautiful golden stripes.
We can arrange tours or arrange private or shared sites nearby visit as Lobos Island with its colonies of blue-footed boobies, frigates, pelicans, seagulls and mockingbirds of the Galapagos.Ochoa beach offers golden sands surrounded by mangroves, ideal for swimming or snorkelling (snorkelling) site.The most dramatic and photogenic attraction near Puerto Baquerizo is the famous "Kicker", an impressive formation remains of an ancient volcano ash split in two, with towering vertical walls and a narrow channel turquoise waters in the middle.The site can only be traversed from an authorized to admire large colonies of nesting seabirds on the rocks and marine iguanas in the lower parts by the sea boat.Kicker is a great place for snorkelling or scuba diving.All these tours are conducted by certified Naturalist Guides by the Galapagos National Park.Other locations to visit in San Cristobal include Cerro Brujo, Punta Pitt and Puerto Grande.
Among the marine activities besides swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving, San Cristobal is a renowned place for surfing and each year attracts more surfers from around the world.tours are organized by boat for fishing, another activity growing popularity.
At the top of San Cristobal some of the major attractions include the stunning lagoon of El Junco, the largest body of fresh water throughout the archipelago, as well as the Center for Giant Tortoise Breeding National Park.In the southwestern end of the island is Puerto Chino, another beautiful beach for swimming, snorkeling or surfing.These visits require ground transportation.All visits to areas of National Park should be obligatorily accompanied by naturalist guides prepared and licensed by the Galapagos National Park.
