Galapagos National Park Rules and Regulations
We wish to share with you the rules of the Galapgos National Park so you know how to care for this unique place so that the next generations can enjoy it just like you.
Any visit within the protected area must be made in the company of an authorized guide by the Galapagos National Park.
Hire only tours athorized by the Galapagos National Park to avoid any inconveniences.
Both for safety and to ensure the conservation of this valuable natural heritage, remember to stay within the trails and respect the established signaling.
Wildlife in the islands is very friendly but alwatys remember to keep a distance of at least 2 meters. We respect their space and freedom.
Please don´t feed the animals in the Island. Human food is not suitable for them and can cause serious helath problems even kill the animals.
Please donpt use flash to take photos, luminesence of lights can harm their sight and may cause changes on their behaivour.
Remember, professional photography and video for commercial purposes require the authorization of the Galapagos National Park.
Thereare specific camping areas designated by the park. Request authorization in the Technical Offices of the Galapagos National Park, at least 48 hours in advance.
It is your responsibility not to introduce any external flora or fauna that may cause altherations on the ecosistem. Collaborate with inspection and quarantine airports and docks of the islands.
Don´t buy any souvenirs made from coral, shells, volcanic rock, animal parts, wood or any other local resources.
Respect the closure seasons and helpo us to preserve this delicate ecosistem.
Comercialization of this prioducts is an illegal activity that should be reported.
Don´t leave any garbage or residues in the island, help us to preserve clean beaches and trails to prevent pollution.
In Galapgos Islands all garbage is separated and processed to reduce negative impacts of human sttlements in the Islands. Please bring with you all your garbage and dispose of it acording to its cathegory.
Smoking and starting fires is forbiden in the Galagos National Park. This can cause serious forest fires that can kill many plnats, animals and even humans.
Fishing in the Galapagos Marine Reserve is prohibited. Only certain fishing boats have the authorization of the Galapagos National Park to perfom this activitie. Fishing in unauthorized boats is punishible by the law.
Motorized water sports, use of submarines, or planes for air tourism is not allowed.
