Kicker Rock is one of the most famous landmarks in Galapagos. These colossal rocks were once part of a volcanic cone which rises above the sea level and, as seen from the distance, they look like a sleeping sea lion, hence its Spanish name of “Leon Dormido” (Sleeping Lion). But the scenic beauty of these rocks is not the only attraction here. The most important feature is the immense amount of marine life that dwells in the waters surrounding Kicker Rock: Eagle rays, Galapagos sharks, and thousands of colorful tropical fishes can be spotted here. Also the incredible hammerhead shark may be spotted in the area. You will be dazzled by the beauty and variety of marine life found in this zone.
After this visit we will visit one of the nearby beaches like Puerto Grande, Cerro Brujo or Manglecito. As part of the conservation policies of the National Park, the visitor site changes in order to reduce the pressure over the environment thus, the place to visit after snorkeling at Kicker Rock will vary according to the day. Nevertheless, all of them are beautiful beaches, bathed by turquoise waters and beautiful sands.
